So what's it all about?

So what's it all about?

Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Edinburgh, a student run charithy, is working in collaboration with the Cambodian Hope Organisation (CHO), a Cambodian NGO who work to improve the lives of Cambodian people.

We are working to provide clean water around Poipet. This project is running now (summer 2010).

Through this blog we hope to create a resource useful to anybody carrying out subsequent or similar projects, or just something of interest for those that know us.

About the Team

A large team have been working on this project to prepare for our trip. Additionally, other members of EWB Edinburgh have traveled to Cambodia in previous years carrying out other work (including installing a biogas generator) and laying the ground work for this project.

The team travelling to Cambodia are:

Jack Barrie
Entering his final year of a Civil Engineering Masters degree, Jack will lead the team, focusing primarily on the technology we use.

Evelyn Buchner-Santos
Evelyn has just graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. She will be our link with the community.

Chris Emmott
Having just finished a Physics degree, Chris will be passing on some of his vast knowledge to the Cambodian people, looking after the educational side of the project.

Alison Fulford
Alison will be cheering us up and using her teaching experience to help the Safe Haven's residents stay hygenic.

Angus McBride
Also working on the technology, I am going into my final year of a civil engineering degree.
